<p class="Default"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">June 2020 - The Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) is currently recruiting for two positions that will support the mission of the Environmental Stewardship Program, Willamette Valley, Oregon. These positions will
assist with cultural resource management at 13 reservoirs that compose the </span>
<span style="font-size:10.0pt;color:blue">Willamette Valley System</span><span style="font-size:10.0pt">.
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="Default"><b><span style="font-size:10.0pt">Duties and Responsibilities:
</span></b><span style="font-size:10.0pt"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="Default"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">Major duties are related to identification, monitoring, and management of precontact, protohistoric, and historic cultural resources that span the most recent 10,000 years of history. Cultural resources stewards
will work closely with professional archaeologists to undertake fieldwork including pedestrian and subsurface surveys, condition assessments, and collection of spatial, narrative, and photographic data related to cultural resources. Fieldwork will make up
80% of the internship duties. Office work including data entry to maintain Corps libraries and databases, resource form preparation, basic use of ArcMap, etc., will compose 20% of duties.

<p class="Default"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">The cultural resources stewards will report daily to the Corps Fern Ridge Field Office, 26275 Clear Lake Road, Junction City OR, 97448. The incumbents must arrange their own transportation to and from the office.
Public transportation opportunities are not available. Fieldwork may occur at any of the 13 reservoirs in the Willamette Valley System. Use of personal vehicles will be required during some limited duty hours (mileage is reimbursable).

<p class="Default"><b><span style="font-size:10.0pt">Terms of Employment</span></b><span style="font-size:10.0pt">:
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="Default"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">The AmeriCorps member will serve a term of service starting in June 2020. Time commitment is full time with a minimum of 450 hours by September 2020. We encourage students to apply and may be able to adjust
the start and end dates to fit in the summer break. 450 hours is about 12 weeks of full time work.

<p class="Default"><b><span style="font-size:10.0pt">Program Benefits</span></b><span style="font-size:10.0pt">:
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="Default"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">A $6,000 living allowance prorated into monthly payments and an education award of $1,612.43 upon completion of the 450 hours of service and/or position requirements. The living allowance and education award
are taxable. Members are responsible for providing their own housing and food. Service eligibility is contingent upon the results of a criminal and driving background check.
