<div>As you may know, my connection with archaeology in Oregon goes back nearly 50 years. Throughout that span, archaeologists everywhere have bemoaned the low level of archaeological knowledge and understanding on the part of the general public. My career, which is veering toward media, has evolved in response to that concern. Please check out the latest effort here to address the need for public outreach. This is a new subscription video-on-demand service that focuses specifically on cultural heritage. This seems especially appropriate now, while many people are spending more time at home.</div>

<div><em>Heritage Broadcasting Service</em>, or just plain <em>Heritage</em>, is already available in Beta Launch mode and will launch formally on January 1. Developed by our Oregon nonprofit, Archaeological Legacy Institute (we created <em><strong>The Archaeology Channel</strong></em> at archaeologychannel.org), <em>Heritage</em> features 115 outstanding film titles from many countries on familiar subjects such as ancient Egypt, Stonehenge, Mesoamerica, and Peru, but also diverse topics ranging from prehistoric astronomers to the only Japanese bombing of the US mainland in World War II. North American titles are included. Many more titles are in the pipeline. Subscribers can watch all the shows now on their desktop computers, tablets and smartphones and will be able to watch them on their smart TVs with Roku (beginning January 4, 2021).</div>

<div>You can check out the <em>Heritage</em> site now at heritageTAC.org, where, even without a subscription, you can watch many trailers and read the descriptions of the dozens of titles that have been posted there so far. Subscriptions are now available and gift cards (at https://heritagetac.org/gift_cards/new) can be purchased for redemption immediately.</div>
