Building transparency and trust in government: a guide for PR professionals
Survey results, research data and our own experiences tell us that the majority of Americans don’t trust “the government.” Why is that? More importantly, what can we or should we do about it? Join us June 5, for a conversation with Patrick Cooney, APR, Communications Division Adminitrator with the Oregon Department of Transportation as he shares the latest research research on trust in government and offers advice on building transparency.

Patrick has more than 25 years experience as a government public relations practitioner and spokesperson for federal (Department of the Army, Department of Defense) and state (Oregon Department of Transportation) agencies. He has expertise in strategic communications, media strategy, employee communications, public affairs and emergency/crisis communications. Patrick is internationally accredited in public relations by the Public Relations Society of America and has a masters degree in journalism from the University of Kansas.
