Advocate,

On Monday, the American Diabetes Association and the Congressional
Diabetes Caucus will be holding a welcome reception for the 111th
Congress. Please ask your U.S. representativeto pledge their
commitment to fight diabetes by joining the Congressional Diabetes
Caucus.

The mission of the Caucus is to educate U.S. Representatives and their
staff about diabetes and to support legislative activities that would
improve diabetes research, education, and treatment. 

Given the devastating complications of diabetes, we must
let your U.S. representativeknow that this
is an issue important to people in . Diabetes
continues to be one of the only leading diseases where the death rate
continues to rise and if things don't change, 1 in 3 children in
the United States will develop diabetes in their lifetime.

We need the support of all Members of Congress if we are going to
fight this disease.
