<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 10pt; mso-line-height-alt: 1.15pt" class=MsoNormal><FONT face=Calibri><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold">The Oregon Health Improvement Plan is a series of </SPAN><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt">recommendations to improve the lifelong health of Oregonians, prevent chronic disease, and stimulate innovation and collaboration within our communities.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Its focus is on finding ways to ensure people's health long before health <I>care</I> is needed. Its goal is to create environments and systems that provide every Oregonian, regardless of their income, education, or racial/ethnic background, with the opportunity to make healthy choices for themselves and their families.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>To help address these issues, the Oregon Health Policy Board created the Oregon Health Improvement Plan (HIP) Committee in January 2010 with the charge of recommending innovative solutions.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>The Oregon Health Policy Board expects recommendations that are actionable within the scope of the Oregon Health Authority and the current economic environment.<o:p></o:p></SPAN></FONT></P>
<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 10pt; mso-line-height-alt: 1.15pt" class=MsoNormal><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt"><FONT face=Calibri>Given this charge and context, we are seeking your input as to whether or not you feel the components of the draft plan will move <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:State w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Oregon</st1:place></st1:State> in the direction for improved health.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>We invite you to review the draft plan and complete the Public Input on the committee website available at <A href="http://www.oregon.gov/DHS/ph/hpcdp/hip/index.shtml">http://www.oregon.gov/DHS/ph/hpcdp/hip/index.shtml</A>. (Note- It's a 76 page file, with appendices starting on page 23).</FONT></SPAN></P>
<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 10pt; mso-line-height-alt: 1.15pt" class=MsoNormal><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt"><FONT face=Calibri>The results of this survey will be summarized as part of the HIP Committee's presentation to the Oregon Health Policy Board on <st1:date w:st="on" Year="2010" Day="9" Month="11">November 9, 2010</st1:date>.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>At that time, the Oregon Health Policy Board will consider the plan and the summarized feedback.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>The Board will forward recommendations it approves to the Oregon Health Authority and Legislature.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN><o:p></o:p></FONT></SPAN></P>
