It is recommended to test your well water once a year by an accredited laboratory to monitor any contaminants present. In Oregon, routine testing for nitrate, coliform bacteria and arsenic is recommended. If selling a property in Oregon, these test are required
by law (<a href="http://www.oregon.gov/oha/PH/HEALTHYENVIRONMENTS/DRINKINGWATER/SOURCEWATER/DOMESTICWELLSAFETY/Pages/Testing-Regulations.aspx">ORS 448.271</a>).
