CALL FOR PRESENTERS
Deadline for Submissions: November 19, 2010
Notification of Acceptance: November 30, 2010

The Northwest Environmental Health Conference Planning Team is accepting abstracts for presentations at our 3rd Annual Conference to be held in Portland, Oregon, February 11, 2011. The goal of the conference is to increase the knowledge of participants about environmental health issues, engage and activate participants, and strengthen our environmental health community through networking. Presenters who are health care professionals, public health, environmental and occupational health managers, healthcare procurement specialists, and program managers from community-based organizations are encouraged to submit proposals.


CONFERENCE TRACKS & TOPICS OF INTEREST


We seek abstracts that focus on specific strategies to be implemented by health professionals to address and integrate environmental health considerations into their practice and policy work. Case study presentations are encouraged. Submissions should clearly relate to one of the following track: 1) Green Chemistry; 2) Built Environment; 3) Obesity; 4) Environmental Justice & Sustainability; 5) Integrative Healthcare. However, if you have an innovative project or topic that does not quite fit into any of these categories, please submit it. First consideration will go to projects that are unique, innovative, or otherwise new material. 

The tracks for the 2011 Northwest Environmental Health Conference are:Emerging Science & Research: Presentations that address new and innovative research on environmental factors affecting human health.Direct Practice & Real World Applications: Presentations that describe programs that engage, directly affect, and/or are led by members within a community or procedures and protocols that nurses, doctors, and other health care professionals are taking to integrate issues of health, environment, and safety into facilities and practices.Policy & Future Directions: Presentations that address federal, state, county, local, or organizational policies and initiatives about environmental health issues and concerns.
