Subject: Green Chemistry symposium

Hello all,

We are joining with friends at the CROET to host a June symposium on the impact of sustainable chemistry on worker health. You may have received an earlier notice about the event, but current registration is still pretty anemic. If you know of any relevant listservs, groups or other outlets that may have an interest in this topic and would be willing to share details of the event, please consider sharing the info below or let me know and I'll hit them up.

Thanks for your help!
Best,
Brenda

Dear Colleagues,

I wanted to make sure that you knew about our upcoming symposium, "Green Chemistry, Safer Alternatives and Work," sponsored by CROET at OHSU and Oregon Health Authority on Friday, June 15 in Portland. I hope that you will take the opportunity to view the program at http://www.ohsu.edu/xd/research/centers-institutes/croet/outreach/green-chemistry-symposium.cfm. Keynote speakers include: Dr. Michael Wilson of UC Berkeley and PSU's Jennifer Allen. Elizabeth Grossman, known for her environmental blogging in the Pump Handle among other sources, will be attending this event for purposes of writing a blog and researching for an upcoming book she is writing. We are particularly excited about the opportunity to facilitate discussions on this topic among people with different expertise and subject interests, including environmental sustainability and workplace health and safety.

Symposium Objectives
To share the economic and health case for reducing toxic materials in the workplace. Current global and Oregon policies addressing and impacting use of toxic materials in the workplace will be briefly summarized. Diverse workplaces will share success stories and lessons learned in moving towards safer alternatives.

Thanks for your support! Please contact me if you have questions. We appreciate your sharing this with others who may be interested in attending.

Best regards,

Dede Montgomery
