This employment opportunity is with Public Health Department, which is part of the Oregon Health Authority (OHA). There is one full-time, limited duration position located in Portland (800 Oregon St). The duration of the assignment will last until July 2013 and may be extended into the future. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the epidemiologist for Oregon's Birth Anomalies Registry (BAR). The epidemiologist will serve as lead in the development of the CDC-funded BAR and will work closely with the Maternal and Child Health Section (including Informatics), the Environmental Public Health Tracking Program and the Center for Health Statistics.
This position will be responsible for providing consultation to the BAR team and other program staff in the development of educational materials, presentations, and other outreach to the public, consumers and health care providers and will Interpret analytic information for use in policy development and decision making. The successful candidate will serve as a state spokesperson for BAR-related data and surveillance.
