Friends and Partners of Oregon Tracking,

I'm very pleased to announce the release of this map of Oregonians' weight, produced by the Oregon Tracking Program from data on drivers' licenses and identification cards. Data were provided by the Driver & Motor Vehicle Services Division of the Oregon Department of Transportation (DMV).

With over 3 million records to analyze, DMV data allow us to map weight status at a very fine scale. Although people do underreport their weight to the DMV, the bias is consistent so the patterns are still meaningful.

Never before have statewide data on weight status been displayed in such detail. I hope you will enjoy exploring this map. A low resolution version is attached and a high resolution version is available for download at healthoregon.org/epht<http://public.health.oregon.gov/HealthyEnvironments/TrackingAssessment/EnvironmentalPublicHealthTracking/Pages/index.aspx>. Thank you for sharing this link!
