Oregon HIA Program</a> is pleased to announce a new local health capacity-building project: HIA in a Day Workshops. Health Impact Assessment (HIA), is a framework for determining how a decision on a policy, project, or project could impact public health. Using
the best available evidence, including research, local expertise, and public health data, HIAs present both findings and recommendations for improving health outcomes from decisions in transportation, land use planning, education, and other arenas, for everyone

the connections between transportation and local health concerns, and do a rapid assessment of a local transportation decision.

new tools and resources for understanding how transportation and health intersect. Planners who participate in the full day training will be eligible for AICP professional credits through our Workshop co-sponsor, the Oregon Chapter of the American Planning
