<b>only 64% of children with elevated blood lead levels are identified</b>. A recent study by California’s Environmental Health Tracking Program indicates lead is not just a problem in the East Coast and Midwest. In the Western states, only 22% of children

not receiving the support they need. In Oregon, we estimate that only 8% of children with elevated blood lead levels are identified through current testing protocols. It is evident there needs to be more testing conducted among children at higher risk of
being exposed to lead. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
