[Ortac] RTP Grant Advisory Committee Recruitment

Good morning and happy Friday,

The Recreational Trails Program (RTP) Grant Advisory Committee is currently recruiting for three members to fill upcoming vacancies. The 10 member committee evaluates annual grant proposals for trail projects across the state. Volunteer positions begin January 2020. Terms are three years and members are eligible to serve a second term (6 years max). Interest forms are due to me by October 15, available here: https://www.oregon.gov/oprd/GRANTS/Pages/RTP-Committee.aspx

Upcoming vacancies:

*         Biking representative (mountain biking or cycling, although MTB is a more frequent use of RTP funds)

*         Off-Highway Vehicle representative (1 of 2 OHV positions)

*         Accessibility representative (user representative or trail design/land management representative)

RTP is a competitive grant program funded through the USDOT Federal Highway Administration. The committee makes funding recommendations to the OPRD Commission for their approval. Serving on the advisory committee is a great way to have a say in what projects are funded and to provide direct feedback to land managers and their partners on project plans

Time Commitment: a half or one day meeting in the spring, three day grant review meeting in the fall, and independent review of grant applications prior to the fall meeting

Travel Costs: OPRD reimburses or pre-pays travel costs for meetings, including private vehicle mileage, lodging, and meals
