Good afternoon,

The Oregon Recreation Trails Advisory Council (ORTAC<https://www.oregon.gov/oprd/Trail_Programs_Services/Pages/Advisory-Committees.aspx>) is seeking candidates to fill three upcoming vacancies. We're seeking volunteer representatives for Congressional District 1, District 4, and the coast. In 2021 we'll be celebrating the 50th anniversary of ORTAC and the Oregon Recreation Trails System Act. As we approach this important milestone, ORTAC members will guide OPRD and our partners in redefining our roles in statewide trail coordination and putting strategies in place to continue this work into the future.

Four year terms begin on January 1, 2020. Members are eligible to serve a second term. The positions require in-state travel at least four times a year. Travel costs are covered by OPRD. Save the Date: ORTAC's next quarterly meeting will be held in Lebanon on August 1, 2019. A more detailed announcement will follow in July. Area land managers, partners, and especially interested candidates are encouraged to attend.

Doug Newman Award: ORTAC is accepting nominations for the annual Doug Newman award. The award recognizes individuals or groups who have made significant contributions to the state's trail systems or trails community. Nominations are due to me via email by June 30.
