Greetings from OPRD,

Making you aware of two award opportunities to recognize outstanding RTP projects and trail leaders across the state. We're looking forward to highlighting the great work happening in our statewide trails community later this year.

Proposals are also being accepted for the 2021 Oregon Outdoor Recreation Summit through June 4. Help us develop a great conference this year by submitting your proposal or passing on the invitation to someone you know!

RTP Achievement Awards: American Trails and the Coalition for Recreational Trails are accepting nominations for outstanding RTP projects from across the county. Projects selected for an award will be recognized at an award ceremony in September, will be featured on the American Trails website, and will be included in future RTP publications. Even projects not selected for an award have the opportunity to be featured by American Trails. Oregon has a great track record of having our projects recognized - let's keep that going this year! Doug Newman and Trail Stewardship Awards: The Oregon Recreational Trails Advisory Council (ORTAC) is calling for nominations for two awards: the annual Doug Newman Memorial Award which recognizes long term leaders in the state trails community, and trail stewardship partner awards to recognize volunteers, trail groups, and land managers who exemplify partnership and stewardship in their work. Award winners will be recognized during a virtual celebration of the 50th anniversary of the State Trails Act during the 2021 Oregon Outdoor Recreation Summit. 2021 Outdoor Recreation Summit: The call for session proposals is open through June 4. Proposals are accepted for standalone sessions, roundtable participants for specified topics, and in-field learning or stewardships opportunities.
