[Imagery] NAIP 2012

Kent Willett from FSA has been informed that Oregon will be flown under the NAIP program in 2012.
The product will be a 1 meter 4 band image.
Apparently the logic is that the 3 year cycle is 2009/2012/2015.  The 2011 flight was thrown in because the quality of the 2009 flight was lower quality and there were some extra funds available.

It is possible that we could buy up to a higher resolution of ½ meter.  Here are the details Kent found out.


·         The total cost of the 2011 NAIP Imagery was $1,495,870 (7,466 DOQQ's @ $200.36).  This means that the 2012 buy-up would cost around $750,000.

·         The buy-up is only available on a statewide basis (no partials allowed).

·         The buy-up product is a 4 band product that would be scheduled to be delivered 30-60 days after the end of the flying season.

·         All funding for the buy-up is required in advance and in full.

Is anyone aware of an organization that has $750,000 to get us to the half meter resolution?
