Hi folks,
We're still waiting on final delivery of the 2022 DOQQs from our partners at FPAC GEO (NAIP). We have been told that may be up to another 30days. Rachel Smith and I are continuing to request this be expedited as much as possible. We are also waiting for Oregon's Department of Administrative Services (DAS) Procurement to move our Work Order for hosting this imagery along. Once that is in place we can direct our vendor to begin processing the imagery. At this point we have a preliminary copy of the DOQQs and may elect to have that data hosted once our Work Order is in place but replacing with the final imagery would likely incur duplicative cost so DAS will have to consider whether that is worth the added expense.
Our QC team has wrapped up its review. A big shout out to all those folks for sharing their valuable time. The team's visual inspection was based on a random selection of ~5% of the tiles. The dominant notation was radiometric balance issues across seamlines likely due to acquisition timing differences. We are sharing our results with NAIP to pass on to the vendor. It appears that most of the things we noted are not out of the NAIP spec but we want to be sure they are passed along for improving any future collections.
Some of you may have noticed that NAIP has published a version of the 2022 Oregon data to their ArcGIS Server CONUS Prime imagery service. You can access that here: https://gis.apfo.usda.gov/arcgis/rest/services/NAIP/ The imagery is indeed from the 2022 acquisition, however it is a lower resolution product than what the State of Oregon is receiving.
The USDA has also posted copies of the Compressed County Mosaics (CCMs) from the 2022 Oregon data for download. They can be found here: https://nrcs.app.box.com/v/naip/folder/187640229940 There is one directory for natural color images (OR_N) and one for false color infrared (OR_C). The data is zipped MrSID format files and the naming is based on FIPS codes<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_counties_in_Oregon>.
Cheers,
Brady Callahan, GISP Geospatial Lead, sUAS Coordinator, Oregon Imagery FIT Lead
