[OSBAE] Reopened Comment Period - Proposed Amendment to OAR 806-010-0010

Greetings,

The Oregon State Board of Architect Examiners (OSBAE) previously filed a proposed rule notice to amend Oregon Administrative Rule 806-010-0010. The Board has decided to reopen the public comment period on the proposed changes through March 25, 2025.

The attached notice contains the proposed amendments which include:

  1.  Clarifying the acceptance of the Education Evaluation Services for Architects (EESA).
     *   OSBAE currently accepts EESA, and the proposed rule aims to make this explicitly clear.
  2.  Updating the eligibility requirements for taking the Architect Registration Examination (ARE).
     *   The proposed amendment aligns exam eligibility requirements with NCARB's model law, allowing individuals with a high school diploma or equivalent to take the ARE. The change would provide earlier access to the exam process but would not alter education, experience, and exam passage requirements.

If you have already submitted comments, they remain on record, so there is no need to resubmit unless you wish to provide additional input. Comments can be emailed to architectboard at osbae.oregon.gov<mailto:architectboard at osbae.oregon.gov> or mailed to: OSBAE, 205 Liberty St. SE, Suite A, Salem, OR 97301. All comments must be received by 4:30 PM on March 25, 2025.
