For boaters who’ve been waiting for that good forecast to get their boats ready, the Oregon State Marine Board is opening at 7:30 am and closing at 5:30 pm on Friday, July 1, to take care of any registration or education business before the long weekend. Boat owners in Oregon are required to have a current boat registration and if operating a motorboat over 10 hp and boat operators must take a boater education course and carry a boater education card when operating on the water.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-indent:.5in;line-height:200%'>The Marine Board office is normally open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday and is located at 435 Commercial Street NE in Salem.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-indent:.5in;line-height:200%'>Boats with expired '09 or '10 registration decals can also renew online and print out a temporary registration.
