The South Umpqua is a popular angling destination. The proposed site lies 11 miles downstream of Weigle Landing and four miles upstream of Happy Valley, an asphalt ramp operated by Douglas County. Marine Board engineers provided the design and engineering for the proposed ramp, parking and access road. Permits have been issued and the in-water work period has been established from July 1 through August 31. Construction is anticipated to begin next summer. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-indent:.5in;line-height:200%'>The Board approved $121,250 in state boater funds combined with $22,736 of in-kind contributions and $363,750 in federal Sport Fish Restoration funds, administered by the Department of Fish and Wildlife.
