Marine Board staff conducted a series of regional workshops with guides and outfitters to discuss issues related to the current administrative rules through the spring and summer months. Marine Board staff and members of the GAC gathered feedback from those meetings and developed proposed rules that the Marine Board unanimously approved.<o:p></o:p></span></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='line-height:200%'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;line-height:200%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif";color:black'> The program rule changes are considered a significant overhaul of the program that has not been updated in over 25 years. These program changes will improve business practices, accountability of Guides and Outfitters, and program operations within the agency. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='line-height:200%'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;line-height:200%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif";color:black'> Vernon Grieve, an outfitter and guide from the lower Rogue River and member of the Rogue River Guide Association, was present at the Board meeting and supports the proposed rule changes. “This will add more credibility to guides and build integrity for the industry.
