Proposed revisions will clarify certain aspects of the program, amend the allocation procedure and add to the required certifications provided by participants in the program. <o:p></o:p></span></h1><p class=MsoNormal style='line-height:200%'><span style='font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'> The Maintenance Assistance Program (MAP) provides annual matching grants to eligible participants to supplement routine maintenance at public boating access sites throughout the state. Participation in the program is voluntary with 272 sites managed by 86 cities, counties, ports, park districts, and state agencies currently receiving grants. The Marine Board allocates around $2 million for MAP grants each biennium. Grant funds come entirely from state boater revenues and federal Clean Vessel Act grants. These funds are derived from fees and taxes paid by the owners of registered boats.
