<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent:.5in;line-height:200%"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">On March 22, the Oregon State Marine Board received a petition requesting that the Marine Board re-position the boating access deadline at Willamette
Falls, near Oregon City. The new deadline, as proposed in the petition, would allow boating access up to the base of the Falls, move the motorized boating deadline to the top of the rapid, and allow whitewater kayakers to surf the waves at the top of the rapid.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height:200%"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman","serif""> The Marine Board staff will be holding a public meeting where interested parties can learn about the petition and provide oral testimony or written
comments on the merit of the proposed changes. The public meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 16, at 7:00 pm, at Clackamas Community College, McLoughlin Auditorium, 19600 Molalla Avenue, in Oregon City. No decisions will be made at this public meeting.
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent:.5in;line-height:200%"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">The Marine Board will decide whether or not to open rulemaking at its next scheduled Board meeting on April 23, in Salem.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
