Creek Reservoir. The grant was approved during the Marine Board’s quarterly meeting, held on July 7, in Salem.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

is more cost-effective compared to replacing the pavement, which can cost up to five times the amount of an overlay.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

existing parking area cannot accommodate the increased boating and fishing activity from March through November. The parking lot configuration was designed when the facility was built –in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s and parking stalls are short (38 feet)
for the size of more current tow vehicles and boat trailers. As a result, many trailers extend well past the marked spaces, extending into the travel lanes making maneuvering difficult. Expanding the parking area will improve maneuvering and boater safety,
as well as relieve congestion in other portions of the park. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">The existing docks were installed nine years ago. A bracket system holds the docks in place and allows the dock to float up and down a “guideway” as water levels change. The dock began
to bind on the guideway, becoming submerged and unstable. The brackets repeatedly broke away from the wooden dock, and are bent which compromises the integrity of the dock structure.

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">The Marine Board approved $44,000 in state boater funds, combined with $9,200 in Union County match and $5,400 ODFW Restoration and Enhancement funds for a project total of $58,600. The
new docks have an anticipated life of 20 years based on documented useful life of similar construction in Oregon.
