<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">The following is some clarification on how the STS code works as well as the option to have the hours paid using the pay code HST for a holiday that falls on an employee’s regularly scheduled
day off. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">When a holiday falls on a regularly scheduled day off (i.e. 4/10 schedule with Fridays as the day off), the payroll system will default the HO coding to STS. A full time employee would accrue
8 hours of ST leave. Employees may use the accrued ST time on another day. <o:p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">If allowed by your CBA or agency policy, employees who wish to be paid for the 8 hours of time in lieu of accruing the ST time off, the pay/leave code for the day should be changed to HST.
HST will pay the employee 8 hours of straight time pay for the holiday falling on their regularly scheduled day off.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
