</span>(SEIU represented employees currently making contributions) will <span style="color:black">
begin paying the mandatory 6% PERS Pick-Up contribution.  What this means is rather than the state paying the mandatory 6% contribution to members’ PERS IAP account, the 6% will
</span>be deducted from the employee’s gross wages as a pre-income tax contribution to PERS. To help offset the impact this will have on an employee’s net pay, SEIU represented PERS participating members will see their base salary increase by 6.95% starting
 November 1.<span style="color:black"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height:150%"><span style="color:black"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height:150%"><span style="color:black">D</span>AS will be processing a mass update in both PPDB and OSPA on
<b>November 5</b>.  PPDB will run a job that updates SEIU represented PERS participating members with a range option code of ‘P’ which will increase the employee’s base salary by 6.95% with an effective start date of 11/01/16.  OSPA will run a job that will
 update the RTMT STAT field on the P010 screen with an ‘E’ which will trigger the 6% contributions to be deducted from the employee’s paycheck with an effective date of 11/30/16. 
<b>Any SEIU PERS participating member separations that occur on November 1 – 4</b> will require an update of the range option code and the P010 RTMT STAT fields by the agency’s HR and payroll offices.  If these entries are not done then you will not be able
 to request a manual check.  Also each agency will need to update both PPDB and OSPA for SEIU represented employees using the *‘E357-020 Employees Eligible for Participation in Retirement’ report, available with each final run, for employees who are eligible
 for PERS contributions starting with the 11/30/16 pay period.<o:p></o:p></p>
