You may well have seen this announcement in the news today, but if not, the 2013 Social Security COLA figures were released this morning.  The Social Security wage base is going up to $113,700 and employee Social Security withholding is returning to 6.2%.  (Of course, Congress could decide to alter the tax rate at the last minute but, from my perspective, that does not seem likely.)

The election worker threshold is also going up $100, to $1600.
