I have been asked what enhancements are planned for OSTX.  The following enhancements are planned and are going through final review to determine the requirements to complete them.  Once the requirements are complete our developers will estimate the amount of work necessary to complete each feature. After that our project manager reviews the work and sets the timelines based on availability of development and testing staff.  The order of the feature work will also be defined at that time.

OSTX Application Technical Documentation

Need to document where data comes from for the overall application as well as individual tabs.

Expansion of Email Functionality

Include emails for when a request has been
(1) approved
(2) rejected
(3) 10 days have passed without having been approved or rejected. Per statute the records will be made available to the requesting school and an email will be sent to the requestor letting them know the data is available. A separate email will be sent to the approvers at the approving school letting them know the data has been made available to the receiving school.

Student Detail Tab Changes

(1)New Tabs: Grad Status, SPED, LEP, Test Admin, & Test Scores will be created or updated and populated with data as long as data is received from the regional data warehouse provider.
(2)Add School Phone (from institution database) to the Registration Record tab of the Student Summary. The school phone will be added to the Enrollment Summary section to provide phone data at the end of each enrollment record. This will provide a requesting (receiving) school with the phone number in case there is a need to contact a previous school for additional information.
(3)Assessment Tab: On the Writing tab, include the type (mode) of writing (Narrative, Expository, Imaginative, etc).
(4)Marks Tab:
Add hover feature to allow user to hover over the NCES Course Code and show the actual NCES course description from the master table.
Add the ability to resort the course data by course rather than year

Approval Tab Changes

Keep approvals on this tab for 60 days (similar to functionality on Requests tab)

History Tab Changes

Reformat this page
(1)Add contact information to include name, email, and phone of all approvers in a district/school.
(2)Address issue of having to scroll to the bottom of the page to see history records.
(3)Separate Student Name to Student First Name & Student Last Name in the log table.
(4)Update font to the same as all other screens.

My Students Tab Changes

Increase the hover speed for the student detail.  The hover speed should immediately show hover information once an individual places their cursor on the fields in a record.

PDFs of Student Detail Tabs

Existing and newly added tabs. Complete record or individual pages (tabs).

Download in KIDS File Format

Provide the data in a format that is received from the regional data warehouse provider.

Reinstate the 10 Day Rule Logic

Automatic approval and access to the entire student record once a request has been waiting approval for 10 days.  This is per ORS 326.575 (2)

Activity Logging

Add logging to capture when user clicks 'I Agree' to download a Student Record in PDF, sends a transcript, or downloads to the KIDS format.
1) A user views their own student's data
2) A student's data is downloaded in the PDF format
3) A student's data is downloaded in the KIDS format
4) A student's transcript data is transferred vertically (sent to an Oregon University) in the standard PESC format

Sending single and multiple transcripts.

Validation and Notification of Complete Data for Vertical Transfer

Need to display student's errors when a request is made.  A message will define the errors and let the user proceed or stop the process to send a transcript.  This will make sure that a transcript has complete and accurate data prior to sending it to a university.
