[OYAN] 2026 Plant a Seed, Read

Hi folks,


Last week I was lucky enough to brainstorm with Lisa and Lily, your OYAN summer reading reps, about our upcoming 2026 Summer, Plant a Seed, Read! This theme is rooted in the idea of farm to table, helping us remember that food and stories connect us to our family, culture, economy and ecology. Plant a Seed, Read looks at the library as a community table, where instead of food, we feast on ideas.

You have a few upcoming opportunities to feast on summer reading ideas:


  *   iREAD is hosting TWO Resource Guide Deep Dives, one THIS Wednesday, December 17th, and one on Wednesday, January 14th, both from 11-12pm. You can register here<https://www.ireadprogram.org/resources/iread-learning-opportunities> for those.


  *   And immediately after those conversations, we're hosting an Oregon-only chat about Summer 2026 starting at 12:15pm - so join us this Wednesday! Zoom link:  https://us02web.zoom.us/j/87169526465  (You do NOT have to attend the iREAD webinar in order to attend this one, anyone who's interested in summer reading is welcome.)
