A very brief update from the State Library this week:

The State Library's AY27 budget bill<https://olis.oregonlegislature.gov/liz/2025R1/Measures/Overview/HB5017> [for our annual budget from the state's General Fund] received a Do-Pass recommendation and had a second reading this week.

As shared earlier, IMLS notified all the state libraries that there has been a delay in the release of their own funds from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), which has caused a delay in the full LSTA 2025 award letter and allotment table. I can confirm that as of today, the State Library has not received that full award letter from IMLS.

The State Library's first request for funds from the LSTA 2025 [partial award] grant was made last week. This initial ask was approved and funds were deposited in the State Library's bank account today. We'll be using these funds to pay for another year's worth of statewide access to the Dowd Homeless Trainings for Oregon library staff, trustees and volunteers.
