<b>You may want to file this summer reading idea and think about doing something similar in your community next summer</b> because the 2016 summer reading theme is fitness/wellness and the slogan for children will be ‘On Your Mark, Get Set… READ!’ and for teens
‘Get in the Game—READ!’ <b>The 2016 children’s summer reading poster and banner may include images of swimming</b> (other sports and wellness activities may be featured in other art and products).

<p class="MsoNormal">Here is what Tualatin and Tigard libraries are doing:<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The two libraries are partnering with the Tigard-Tualatin Aquatic District (TTAD). TTAD provided the libraries with pool passes to distribute to children and teens who participate in the summer reading program.

<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The way Tigard is distributing the pool passes is: Independent Readers and Teens all have an opportunity to enter weekly bonus prize drawings for summer reading. In order to enter the drawings, they have to tell a librarian about something
they’ve read or listened to. Just for entering the bonus prize drawing, youth get a free coupon to swim at TTAD. <o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">The way Tualatin is distributing the pool passes is: When children and teens sign-up for the summer reading program they get a free coupon to swim for Tualatin Hills Parks & Recreation pool. When children and teens finish the summer reading
program, they each get a free coupon to swim at TTAD. <o:p></o:p></p>
