Federal-Impact-HR1-Initial-Analysis.pdf</a> detailing the loss of federal funding from various state agencies. It includes the potential<span style="color:#215E99"> [loss of]</span> $2.5M LSTA funds from the State Library starting in FY27. This initial analysis
provides information, but does not change the state’s budget. That has to be done by the state legislature.

</span>This is one of many scenarios playing out right now; as shared previously the Senate has started the process to add LSTA funding back into the federal FY26 budget.
</span><span style="font-size:11.0pt;color:#215E99">[Recall that the President’s proposed budget only includes enough IMLS funding to sunset the agency. Also, note that this stage of the Senate’s proposed budget reinstates not just the IMLS/LSTA funding but
much education funding as well. – Jen] <br>

</span><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Congress is recessed until September, so all work is paused at the moment. The House is expected to take up the FFY26 budget next month as well, but there is a strong likelihood that Continuing Resolutions will be utilized<span style="color:#215E99">
[if all involved cannot come to agreement before the mandatory federal budget deadline]</span>. We may not know the final outcome of FFY26 budget for several months.
<i>The past few years it’s been April before the process has been finalized. </i>
