You might already know that the Library of Congress has decided to continue its investigation into the creation and distribution of bibliographic data in US and Canadian libraries --- with primary focus on the economics of current practices. LC has engaged R2 Consulting, LLC to lead the investigation. The research we are conducting and the eventual outcome of the project could have significant implications for libraries of all types.<FONT COLOR="#000080"> </FONT>To keep people informed about the progress of our work, and to get input from catalogers and cataloging coordinators, we have constructed a social networking site at: <a href="http://bibrecords.ning.com/">http://bibrecords.ning.com/</a> We have been promoting the site for several weeks now, but have failed to attract significant numbers from the public and school library communities<FONT COLOR="#000080">.</FONT> <FONT COLOR="#000080"> <BR>
