Sadly, the Hood River County Library is now closed. I understand there will be a meeting on July 12th that will determine what happens next. There is hope for a November election that might reopen the library next year. Stay tuned.<br>

In the meantime I wanted to share the attached clipping from the Hood River News -- an opinion piece by Kathy Watson of Hood River. She provides a strong argument for why library service must continue to be free. I know all of you, from time to time, run into the suggestion that libraries begin charging for basic services. You might want to hang on to this.<br>
