<p class="MsoNormal">As most of you know, the Oregon State Library has a statewide subscription to the Edge Initiative, a fantastic set of tools that empowers libraries to understand their community’s technology needs and move forward to meet those needs. You
can learn more about the <a href="http://www.libraryedge.org/">Edge Initiative</a> and read about how
<a href="http://www.libraryedge.org/toolkit/libraryprofiles/baker">Baker County Library District</a> turned their focus to outreach and collaboration goals after completing the Edge Assessment.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b>The national team that supports the Edge Initiative is looking to create a national cohort of small and medium libraries that wish to actively participate in the Edge Initiative for the next 12 months. Up to five Oregon libraries (both
rural and non-rural) who serve a population of 65,000 or less are eligible join this cohort.
<o:p></o:p></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">In order to participate in this inaugural cohort, libraries will need to sign a letter of commitment and agree to complete an Assessment, create an Action Plan, attend each course in the Edge Curriculum, and use the Edge Executive Tools
and Edge data to apply for a grant/external funding before April 30, 2018.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">In exchange for their commitment, libraries will get the following:<o:p></o:p></p>

<li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1">Quarterly Conference Call/Webinar for small and rural libraries<o:p></o:p></li><li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1">Customized press release geared towards local government officials<o:p></o:p></li><li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1">Contribute to a snapshot focusing on small and rural libraries<o:p></o:p></li><li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1">Exclusive community of practice for small and rural libraries<o:p></o:p></li><li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1">Four high-performing libraries will be featured in Library Profiles<o:p></o:p></li><li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1">Special acknowledgement in an upcoming Edge newsletter<o:p></o:p></li><li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1">Specialized coaching and learning opportunities through April 30, 2018<o:p></o:p></li><li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1">Exclusive member meet-up at ARSL 2017 (St. George, UT)<o:p></o:p></li></ul>
