<p class="MsoNormal">Hello again, library directors! There are lots of COVID updates this week, so I apologize for clogging your inboxes.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Oregon Health Authority recently released <a href="https://sharedsystems.dhsoha.state.or.us/DHSForms/Served/le2288K.pdf">
updated face covering guidance</a>. The new update requires face coverings at all times except for the following scenarios in the workplace:<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<ul style="margin-top:0in" type="disc">
<li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1">When eating or drinking<o:p></o:p></li><li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1">When in a private, individual workspace (i.e. office occupied by one person with the door closed)<o:p></o:p></li></ul>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The upshot of this change is that people who work in cubicles or open work areas need to wear masks, even if they’re at their personal workspaces.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The guidance also includes further details on when face shields are (or are not) appropriate, face masks for youth, and making accommodations for employees, volunteers, and patrons.<o:p></o:p></p>
