The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 26 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Clatsop County Judge Guy Boyington Building, 857 Commercial Street in downtown Astoria. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:12.0pt;line-height:115%'>Members of the public are invited to attend and participate in the meeting. The meeting location is accessible to persons with disabilities. Requests for an interpreter for the hearing impaired or other accommodations for persons with disabilities should be made at least 48 hours prior to the meeting. Questions about accessibility or special accommodations for the meeting can be directed to the Oregon Department of Forestry at 503-325-5451.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:12.0pt;line-height:115%'>Annual operations plans for ODF districts identify and describe specific activities such as timber sales and reforestation, road building, stream enhancement and recreation projects on the state forests that are planned for the Fiscal Year ahead starting July 1.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:12.0pt;line-height:115%'>The 2011 Implementation Plan addresses policy changes adopted last year. In 2010, the Oregon Board of Forestry approved changes to the NW Oregon Forest Management Plan and revised performance measure targets for the Clatsop and Tillamook State Forests. The 2010 changes are related to the amount of complex structure (layered and older forest structure) that will exist in the forest, addresses how compliance with the federal Endangered Species Act will be achieved, sets goals for harvest volumes and expands strategies for ‘species of concern.’ <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:12.0pt;line-height:115%'>Written comments on the Fiscal Year 2012 Annual Operating Plan and the proposed 2011-2021 Implementation Plan for the Clatsop State Forest will be accepted until 5 p.m. on May 25, at either the ODF Astoria District office or the Salem ODF headquarters.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:12.0pt;line-height:115%'>Oregon’s forests are among one of the state’s most valued resources, providing a balanced mix of environmental, economic and social benefits.
