The plan increases the annual harvest from the current 25 million board-feet to about 40 million board-feet; increases the proportion of older forest habitat across the landscape from the current 43 percent to 50 percent over the next 35 years; and designates almost a third of the forest as “conservation areas,” unavailable for harvest. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:3.0pt;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:.5in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-autospace:none'><span style='font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>The forest, owned by the State Land Board and managed through an agreement with ODF, provides revenue for schools, as required by Oregon’s constitution.
