<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has posted a draft outline for use of the Volkswagen Environmental Mitigation Funds on their
<a href="http://www.oregon.gov/deq/aq/programs/Pages/VW-Diesel-Settlement.aspx">VW Diesel Settlement webpage</a>, and has opened a period for public comment on the elements of the proposed plan. This current proposed plan reserves approximately $18 million
to replace older diesel school buses as a step to meet the goal of reducing risk to vulnerable populations, specifically children.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Once Oregon is accepted as a Beneficiary by the Trustee, the state will have 90 days to submit a proposed plan to the Trustee. DEQ anticipates another round of public review for the proposed plan at that
time.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
