</span><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1F497D"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1F497D">Public libraries may purchase these titles with Ready to Read funds even if their local school
does not participate in OBOB because these titles are both popular and quality literature that kids tend to want to read. These would be good titles for book clubs!<br>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1F497D"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1F497D"></span>While OBOB is primarily a school library activity, public library can
help by making sure copies of the OBOB titles are available for kids to check out and read. Public libraries that want to do more to support OBOB should first call their local school and ask the OBOB coordinator how the public library can help. Public libraries
might consider having an OBOB book club for kids to discuss the books in preparation for battles or hosting practice battles. It may be important to know that schools will be registering to participate in the 2013-2014 OBOB starting around September 1, 2013
and ending mid-November 2013 and that participating schools will be listed on the OBOB website at that time.

any books about burrowing animals, archeology, geology, digging machines/certain types of construction that take place underground, subways, caves and more! There are bibliographies (book lists) in your summer reading manuals, but you don't have to stick to
them. You can ask your colleagues for ideas, check publisher's websites to see if they have created their own underground themed lists, and search the Internet. You might start with searching for
<a href="http://pinterest.com/search/boards/?q=2013+summer+reading+dig+into+reading">
"2013 summer reading dig into reading" on Pinterest</a>. You'll find mostly programming and craft ideas, but you'll also find book ideas!</span></li></ul>

<p><span style="color:black">Remember that you may freely shift funding among items listed on your R2R application. You only need to contact me to get approval for a grant change if you want to spend R2R funds on something that was not included in your budget
