<p class="MsoNormal">Lastly, Rose from Sweet Home sent me the below e-mail about Internet Access in Oregon. Looking at Sweet Home’s stats, even though the percentage of homes without Internet is small, it is a significant number of folks in the community,
many of whom Rose probably knows. Even if the number of folks who do have access in your community is high, I was just on a call this morning with Early Learning Division folks helping schools roll out devices and online learning. These folks normally work
in/with the Early Learning hubs. Every single person mentioned a huge portion of their work the past couple weeks and for the next two going forward is basic internet instruction for parents and caregivers – how to get it setup, how to log into a classroom,
etc – it was a good reminder to not assume that just because folks have Internet access means they know how to use it. This may be a difficult thing for us to keep in mind as information professionals used to having so much right at our fingertips, but we
can’t assume everyone is like us or has access to all that we do.<o:p></o:p></p>
