Hi all, passing on a question from the general manager here:

"I am working on having the library’s signs redone to include both Spanish and English. I am working under the assumption that more Spanish on signs make the library more inviting. With that said, are you aware of any library best practices for signage that refers to materials that are in English only?

For example, [director] would like to see a sign for our English Fiction collection. Would it be misleading to have the word Fiction in both Spanish and English when there are only English language materials in that section? Or, should it say Fiction English, in both Spanish and English? Or something else altogether?"

 I wasn't able to find much definitive one way or another, although my inclination is to say more general signs ("welcome", "circulation" etc) in both English and Spanish and section labels in the language the books are in? Does that make sense?

Would love to know what y'all think!
