<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Just want to let you know, on 04/29/20 Martin and I presented the 2020/2021 EDI Task Force Recommendations (attached) to the OLA’s board. The members of the board and State Library attending the meeting were
quite impressed with the content we presented and they are very interested to review and do their best in order to incentive, influence and guide libraries’ leadership in Oregon to follow a transformative quality improvement plan when it comes to equity, diversity
and inclusion and to become (as per our Task Force recommendations) an anti-racism institution.

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">We all know, multi-cultural professionals, especially librarians and library staff of color, have been the dealing with intense emotional labor, trying to deal with the absurd amount of work we have to apply
on EDI and anti-racism strategies, best practices, advocacy, education and awareness on top of our daily professional tasks, and on top of that we are perceived (sometimes even called and/or labelled) as “trouble makers” and insubordinate. It is time to share
this heavy load and have OLA as our ally!<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
