Reed College seeks an innovative and service-oriented Acquisitions
Specialist to procure current and out-of-print materials, in all
formats and languages. In this position, you will collaborate with a
team of library specialists and subject librarians to support
students and faculty engaged in research, inquiry, and coursework
throughout the curriculum.

two years of library technical services experience, or any

experience using library systems such as Alma, Gobi, and
Connexion.</span></li>

<p><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></p>
<ul>
<li aria-level="1" style="font-weight: 400;"><span
style="font-weight: 400;">Order new purchases of books,
DVDs, CDs, scores, and other materials in a variety of
languages and from a variety of general and specialized
library vendors.</span></li>
<li aria-level="1" style="font-weight: 400;"><span
style="font-weight: 400;">Create and update order records in
the library’s integrated library system (Alma).</span></li>
<li aria-level="1" style="font-weight: 400;"><span
style="font-weight: 400;">Search and import existing
bibliographical records from OCLC Connexion into the library
catalog.</span></li>
<li aria-level="1" style="font-weight: 400;"><span
style="font-weight: 400;">Monitor and review accuracy of
order fulfillment.</span></li>
<li aria-level="1" style="font-weight: 400;"><span
style="font-weight: 400;">Process payment of invoices and
assist in monthly credit card reconciliation.</span></li>
<li aria-level="1" style="font-weight: 400;"><span
style="font-weight: 400;">Communicate with vendors about a
wide range of issues including orders, invoices and
payments.</span></li>
<li aria-level="1" style="font-weight: 400;"><span
style="font-weight: 400;">Select and track use of budget
resources including gift endowments and funds.</span></li>
<li aria-level="1" style="font-weight: 400;"><span
style="font-weight: 400;">Perform copy cataloging for some
monographs.</span></li>
<li aria-level="1" style="font-weight: 400;"><span
style="font-weight: 400;">Process donations to the library.</span></li>
<li aria-level="1" style="font-weight: 400;"><span
style="font-weight: 400;">Receive, sort, and distribute
library mail.</span></li>
<li aria-level="1" style="font-weight: 400;"><span
style="font-weight: 400;">Lead and contribute to annual
collection maintenance projects.</span></li>
