Re: 2013-14 IDEA Part B, Sections 611 and 619 Estimates
ODE has posted the 2013-14 IDEA Part B Funding Estimates at: http://www.ode.state.or.us/search/page/?=2937.
These estimates are based on funding allocations provided by the US Department of Education on April 25, 2013, and account for sequestration. IDEA grants from the US Department of Education are made available to states in two parts, one on July 1 and one on October 1. Because sequestration impacts Federal Fiscal Year 2013 (ending 9/30/13), the full amount of the reductions ($6,711,453 for Part B, Section 611 and $202,665 for Part B, Section 619) must be taken from the July 1, 2013 allocation. This means that unlike previous years in which districts received two allocations (September and March), districts will receive three (September, October, and March).
If you have any questions related to the 2013-14 IDEA Part B Funding Estimates or special education funding generally, please contact Steve Smith (steve.w.smith at state.or.us<mailto:steve.w.smith at state.or.us> or 503.947.5711).
