RE: Distribution of the Special Education Report Cards by School Districts and EI/ECSE Programs
Districts and programs must take responsibility for ensuring that the School District and EI/ECSE Special Education Report Cards reach the parents of all students with IEPs and IFSPs enrolled in Oregon public schools and EI/ECSE programs. Many districts and programs choose to mail their report cards, but it is not a requirement. Under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA 2004), each parent of a student with an IEP or IFSP must receive a copy of the report card. The Oregon Department of Education (ODE) requires distribution no later than May 20 of each school year, though procedures are left to the discretion of the district or program.
