Special Education Directors
As we continue to implement Oregon's Employment First<http://www.oregon.gov/dhs/employment/employment-first> initiative, it is important for state leaders to communicate directly with local leadership about priorities and goals as we move forward.
Leadership from the Department of Human Services and the Oregon Department of Education are planning joint meetings with local Special Education Directors, VR Branch Managers, CDDP Managers, and Brokerage Directors.
Jan. 29: Salem - Linn, Benton, Marion, Polk, Yamhill, Lincoln, and Tillamook counties (sometime between 1-4 pm - location TBA).
Jan. 30: Portland- Multnomah, Washington, Clackamas, Clatsop and Columbia counties (sometime between 1-4 pm - location TBA).
The agenda will include:
* Important updates on current statewide strategies and policies;
* A discussion of questions, concerns and suggestions; and
* Ideas on how local leadership can communicate and work together toward the common goal of increasing integrated employment opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Details will follow, including time/location, but plan on attending this important opportunity to meet with state leaders. Additional meetings around the state will be scheduled in the spring. Contact Mitch Kruska mitch.kruska at state.or.us<mailto:mitch.kruska at state.or.us> with questions.
