The Oregon Department of Education's Dispute Resolution Committee (DRC) has a current opening for a new member. The DRC meets three times per year in Salem to discuss IDEA dispute resolution matters and administrative orders including Due Process orders and State Complaint Final orders. The purpose of the DRC is to meet and to discuss IDEA Dispute Resolution issues and other legal matters that are related to the IDEA or Special Education law. The work is not paid but is valuable to our education community. We are now accepting applications for a School District or ESD Special Education Representative to fill an opening on the Committee. Applicants from the Southern part of the State are particularly encouraged to apply due to our current membership needs. The Committee will vote on applications and approve the new appointee at our next meeting in the fall of 2014.
