As we continue to implement Oregon's Employment First<http://www.oregon.gov/dhs/employment/employment-first> initiative, it is important for state leaders to communicate directly with local leadership about priorities and goals as we move forward.

Leadership from the Department of Human Services and the Oregon Department of Education are planning joint meetings with local Special Education Directors, VR Branch Managers, CDDP Managers, and Brokerage Directors.

SOUTHERN OREGON REGION
DATE: April 2, 2015  -  1:00 - 4:00

For local leaders in the region that includes Coos, Curry, Douglas, Jackson, Josephine, Klamath counties.

EASTERN OREGON REGION
DATE: April 22, 2015  -  1:00 - 4:00

For local leaders in the region that includes Baker, Gilliam, Grant, Harney, Lake, Malheur, Mid-Columbia, Morrow, Sherman, Umatilla, Union, Wallowa, Wheeler counties.

CASCADE OREGON REGION
DATE: May 7, 2015  -  1:00 - 4:00
LOCATION: TBD
For local leaders in the region that includes Crook, Deschutes, Jefferson, Lane counties.

AGENDA
Important updates on current statewide strategies and policies


A discussion of questions, concerns and suggestions regarding implementation of the Employment First initiative



Ideas on how local leadership can communicate and work together toward the common goal of increasing integrated employment opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.



More information and details will follow.  We encourage local leaders in the region to take the opportunity to meet with state leaders regarding this important initiative.
