A proposed settlement has been reached in the Lane v. Brown case regarding sheltered workshops and transition-aged youth/adults with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities.  If you have had a chance to review the agreement, you see the importance of collaborative work between ODE and the Department of Human Services in providing pre-employment opportunities in community settings for students with disabilities in transition programs.  Attached you will find a document summarizing the settlement proposal, that will provide us with a common understanding of the agreement as we move forward with communication and implementation.  A Spanish version of both attached documents will be available shortly.
